What is UseMil Convert?
UseMil Convert is an online file conversion service created to solve common file format compatibility obstacles without requiring software installations, account registrations, or paid subscriptions.
Many conversion websites force users through paywalls, deceptive download buttons, or excessive advertising. UseMil was designed with a different ethos: a clean, functional web tool that does one thing reliably—transform your files into the format you need with speed, fidelity, and respect for your personal privacy.
Our Two-Tier Conversion Architecture
Different file transformations demand different technical resources. To ensure both maximum privacy and high conversion quality, UseMil uses a hybrid architecture:
1. Client-Side Browser Execution

Whenever possible, conversions run entirely in your local browser using modern Web APIs and WebAssembly. For example, our PDF Merge tool combines documents directly on your machine using pdf-lib, and many raster image transformations run using HTML5 Canvas.
2. Dedicated Backend Conversion
High-Fidelity Native Engines • Automated Cleanup
Transformations requiring heavy processing—such as video and audio transcoding via FFmpeg, vector PDF rasterization via Poppler, or specialized image formats via Pillow—are securely handled by our dedicated conversion servers.

MP4, WebM, MOV, MKV, AVI transcoding, and animated GIF creation.
Bi-directional conversion between CSV tabular data and Microsoft Excel (XLSX).
Our Privacy Commitment
Your files belong to you. We believe a conversion utility should handle files with the highest degree of discretion:
- No Accounts Required: You never need to supply an email address, name, or password.
- No Permanent File Storage: Converted files are stored in temporary isolated folders and permanently erased by our automated cleanup system after 60 minutes.
- Manual Deletion: You can delete your converted files from our server at any time with a single click.
- No Advertising Trackers: We do not deploy third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking scripts.
